How to Fix an IPTV EPG
Programme guide blank, wrong or hours off? How the EPG actually works, and the fixes for missing data, wrong times and stale listings in every major player.

The EPG (electronic programme guide) is downloaded separately from the channel list — which is why channels can work perfectly while the guide shows nothing, or shows EastEnders at three in the morning. Three different problems get lumped together as "EPG broken"; here's how to tell them apart and fix each.
Problem 1: The guide is blank ("No information")
The guide data hasn't downloaded, or has expired. Fix: force a refresh.
- IPTV Smarters — Settings → EPG (or Install EPG), then refresh.
- TiviMate — Settings → EPG → Update EPG. Also check the update interval is set to daily.
- IBO Player Pro — reload from the home screen; guide data re-downloads with the playlist.
- MAG boxes — restart the portal; the guide rebuilds on load.
First-ever EPG downloads are the slow ones — several megabytes of listings. Give it a few minutes before concluding it failed.
Problem 2: The times are wrong
If every programme is shifted by the same amount (usually exactly one hour, or a few time zones), the guide data is fine — your device's clock or time zone is wrong.
- Open the device's date/time settings.
- Set time zone to Europe/London (not a fixed GMT offset — the UK's summer time shift is exactly the one-hour error people see).
- Enable automatic date and time.
- Restart the player app.
Some players additionally have their own EPG time offset setting — check it's on 0 unless you know you need otherwise.
Problem 3: The guide is stale or patchy
Guide loads, but days-old data or some channels missing listings:
- Set the app's EPG auto-update to daily so data never ages out.
- Refresh the playlist too — channel-to-guide mapping travels with it. Steps in refreshing an IPTV playlist.
- If specific channels never show guide data while the rest do, tell support which ones — mapping gaps on our side can be fixed, but only if we know about them.
Last resort: re-add the playlist
Delete the playlist from the app and add it again with your login details. This re-imports the EPG source link itself and cures the odd case where the app's stored source went bad.
If something is not working
If the guide is still empty after a refresh, correct time zone, and a clean playlist re-add, contact support and mention which app and device you're on — a known-good EPG source URL can be confirmed from our side in minutes.
