LG's webOS is one of the nicest TV systems to use day to day, and it handles IPTV well: install a player from the LG Content Store, sign in with your details, and the magic remote does the rest. Here's the process and the gotchas.

A 2017 LG TV and a 2024 one run quite different webOS versions. Menus move around, but the install-and-sign-in flow is the same.

LG TVs running webOS — most models from around 2016 onwards — can install IPTV players from the LG Content Store. If your TV has the Content Store on its home ribbon, it will work.
IPTV Smarters and IBO Player are the common webOS options. Store availability varies by region and changes occasionally; search the Content Store first and see our LG tutorial for current recommendations.
Either the TV predates webOS, the store region hides the app, or the model has a cut-down store. The reliable fallback is a Firestick or Android box in any HDMI port — setup takes minutes and often runs smoother than TV-native apps.
